At the start of the pandemic lock-down, being a people person I thought I would go stir-crazy being couped up inside all the time. Having gone to art school in my earlier years, I bought a couple of canvases. I set one up on the easel and just looked at it for a few weeks. What could I paint?! My creative mojo was really suffering! Then one morning, I woke up thinking of some of the wild animals I seen whilst living in Africa – elephants, cheetahs, rhinos and snakes. Such beautiful creatures and wonderful memories. I came downstairs and this time, the paints were out and paint brushes at the ready…I was off. A few weeks later and I’d painted 9 or 10 paintings. But artists like to exhibit! My daughter could see my frustration and she set me up on Instagram (@ChertseyArtistBeth) and now with this lovely website. Painting has given me my mojo back! I’m so happy to share my artwork with you - some are my own humble work, others are replicas or styles of paintings I love or animals who have crossed over the rainbow bridge.
